Celebrity Baby Round Up: Spring Deliveries for Proud Famous Parents

Celebrity Baby Round Up: Spring Deliveries for Proud Famous ParentsJust in time for Mother’s Day—do you know which famous moms-to-be have delivered their own little stars? We’re taking a look at the newest, littlest group of Hollywood royalty to arrive. From movie stars to sports legends, a lot of talented celebrities are welcoming babies into their families!

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler

It’s a boy for The Fabulist’s Kristin and husband, Chicago Bears quarterback, Jay Cutler. The happy couple welcomed son Jaxon Wyatt Cutler on May 7th. The little man weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and joins older brother Camden. Kristin posted a picture on her personal Instagram account to announce her baby’s birth; judging from the sweet sheepskin booties and blue knit hat, Kristin’s son Jaxon is going to be one stylish baby.

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman

Funny actress Barrymore gave birth to her second daughter on April 22th. As a woman with a masculine first name, Drew continued the tradition and named her second daughter Frankie. We think it’s a great, unique name without being off-the-wall! Even though her daughters are still very young, Drew has big plans for their futures. In a recent interview with Redbook, Drew told the magazine that “I would really like to raise kids to do summer jobs and intern, and understand that if you are supposed to be somewhere at 3 o’clock, you need to be there at 3 o’clock.”

Bruce Willis and Emma Heming-Willis

Bruce and his second wife Emma welcomed their second daughter on May 5th. Evelyn Penn is Bruce’s fifth daughter (he has three adult daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore). Congratulations to the proud papa!

Roger Federer and Mirka Federer

This international tennis superstar and his wife Mirka welcomed their second set of twins, both boys, to the world this week. The couple is already parents to identical twin 4-year-old girls. What are the odds of two sets of twins? We’re not sure, but we’re willing to bet these happy parents will have their hands full for the foreseeable future.

Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha

The ultra-private Scandal actress and her NFL husband quietly celebrated the arrival of their little girl, Isabelle Amarachi, on April 22nd without the typical fanfare of a celebrity baby. The first-time mom is resting quietly at home with her new daughter.

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis

Traditional baby names are definitely in style this spring, because you don’t hear the name Otis Alexander too often! The engaged pair welcomed their first son this past Easter. Proving she retained her sense of humor during delivery, Olivia tweeted from the hospital “Ladies and Gentlemen, Otis Alexander Sudeikis has LEFT the building (I’m the building).” We’ll miss Olivia’s glamorous pregnancy style but look forward to her little one’s chic ensembles to come!

Gender Predictors and Ultrasound Tests: Did You Find Out Your Baby’s Sex Before Delivery?

Gender Predictors and Ultrasound Tests: Did You Find Out Your Baby’s Sex Before Delivery?

What do you think, moms? Did you want to know your baby’s sex the first second you possibly could, or were you adamant about waiting until delivery to know if you were welcoming a daughter or son into the world? Choosing whether or not to know your baby’s sex is an important decision every expectant couple faces today. Recent advances in ultrasound technology make it even easier to accurately know your baby’s gender as early as four months pregnant. So, did you choose to wait or was your nursery painted blue or pink before your baby’s arrival?

Learning a baby’s sex before delivery might seem like a ruined surprise to some couples, while others are happy to have the extra months to plan, shop, and pick a name before the big day. But be careful if you reveal your baby’s sex before delivery—you might unknowingly open yourselves to unsolicited advice and opinions from well-meaning friends, family members, and strangers. Think about keeping the gender to yourselves and close friends if you’re set on knowing beforehand. After all, in less than a year everyone will know one way or the other!

If you keep your baby’s sex a surprise, don’t be alarmed when family members and strangers try out their baby gender predictions on you and your growing bump! There’s an ancient, folkloric element to guessing a baby’s gender before birth, and many cultures have unique traditions that predict whether or not you’ll have a son or a daughter.

Whether or not you choose to find out before delivery, it’s important to remember that your baby’s sex is only one part of your child’s identity. Hoping for a healthy, happy infant should be the #1 priority in every expectant parent’s book. We’re sure you will dote on your little one whether you have a boy or a girl! Foster your loving bond with your little one by caring for them with all the love you have to give.

Did you choose to wait to find out your baby’s sex? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments!

Danah’s Recipe for Love

Danah’s Recipe for Love

My career and life on the road for the past 8 years has allowed me to meet the most amazing people from around the world. Golf has allowed me to travel accross America, Australia to Scotland, Taiwan to Canada, New Zealand to Mexico and so many other countries, all from which I’ve made new friends and reunited with old ones.  One of the coolest things I’ve collected over these years are recipes for a cook book I’ve been putting together to be able to pass down to my daughter.

Let’s take the United States for example.  The South has a much different palate than those in the Midwest and the West is different from the Northeast.   We can all become very complacent to our own spices and unique dishes but until you try a recipe or fruit or vegetable from a different region, you don’t know what you are missing. Now, regardless if you like sushi, rice and beans, steak, or tofu or not…one thing is for sure, there’s always ICE CREAM to be found.  That’s my true weakness!

Whether on the road or at home, eating healthy is very important.
I’m looking forward to sharing favorite recipes with my daughter and passing on my cookbook to her.
